Weather Window

Estimate weather downtime for a marine activity from live hindcast wave data, using an operability threshold and a persistence (minimum-window) rule.

Click the map to drop a pin, or enter coordinates directly. The site must be at sea — the wave model has no data over land.

Wave data: Open-Meteo Marine API — an ERA5 / wave-model-based hindcast, fetched live for the selected coordinates. No account or key needed. Downtime is seasonal: it's calculated from the same calendar window (start date onward) across each of the past lookback years, since sea state depends heavily on time of year. For contractual / project-grade certainty, cross-check against a licensed metocean study (e.g. Copernicus Marine, NOAA WaveWatch III, or site buoy data).

Drop a pin at sea, set the criteria, then fetch the hindcast.
